Roof panel installation 1&2 August 2007

The roof cladding is being installed by Graham Bismire of Bismire Roofing and Plumbing Pty Ltd (0408 481-690)
View of Austral roof panel measuring 12.2m long by 1.2m wide from Victoria, being lowered into place.
These panels allow for spans up to 8.0m, which makes for a very impressive interior.

View of the panel edge showing the electrical cabling for the lights chased into foam panel prior the next panel being fixed into place.

Electrical light cabling chased into 200mm thick foam held in with clips, note the wiring going down through the bottom of the panel and 89SHS beam.

Final stages of the Austral Panel being lowered into place with Shane making sure everything goes smoothly.

The Austral panel in place being fixed down with clips and mushroom bolts at their ends.
Note Ben,(Little Red Riding Hood look alike) at far end maintaining pressure on the panel while it is being fixed down with a crow bar and timber spacer.

Closer look at the crowbar technique. The biggest challenge in installing the roof panel was making them lock together at the bottom male/female connection. Large pressure was needed to do this successfully.

The excellent crane work was provided by Narooma Cranes. Darren (driver) and Tim (dogman) were very helpful, even when it was not in their scope of work.

View of the impressive 4.0m overhang over the deck area.

Carport/portico finished ready for capping.

The main roof installation is complete; all that needs to be done is the facia gutter and flashings.
From this angle you can see the impressive overhang over the deck area. Also my original goal of a very thin, sharp edge to the roof is achieved, almost defying physics.
